Crawfish Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 T olive oil
- 1 large onion
- 1/4 cup green onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 2 stalks celery
- 2 c sliced mushrooms
- 1 stick butter
- 3 T unbleached flour
- 1 c heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon tomato sauce
- 1 lb. crawfish
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley
- 1/2 cup unseasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 2 pie crusts...store bought is fine
Preparation:
- Heat oil in medium size soup pot or dutch oven.
- Saute onion, garlic, bell peppers, celery, mushrooms.
- Melt butter.
- Add flour and cook for three minutes.
- Pour in cream and tomato sauce and cook for ten minutes.
- Add crawfish tail meat, and parsley, cook for 10 minutes
- Turn off heat and let set 10 minutes.
- Add bread crumbs ,salt ,pepper, egg, and milk. Mix well.
- Place inside pie shells and bake 35-40 minutes on 350 degrees.
